Redlands Women's Lacrosse Facilities

Farquhar Field

With a carpet-like surface, Farquhar Fields serve as the home of the Bulldog soccer and women's lacrosse teams and are located on the northeast side of campus near Brockton Apartments. Made possible by a donation from Redlands alumni, Don and Kay Farquhar, the facility was built in 1997 as the first in school history to be solely dedicated to these athletic programs. The pitch measures 116 yards by 78 yards, which is larger than most fields of this type, and houses a storage facility for team equipment and public restrooms for spectators.

R Field

In the summer of 2013, Bulldog Athletics became the first among the NCAA Division III to include FieldTurf® Revolution with CoolPlay Technology in its new turf field, known as the "R" Field. This cutting-edge cooling technology has been laboratory tested to decrease the surface temperature of the synthetic field-space by up to 35 degrees, as compared to regular turf fields. This critical factor certainly bodes well for the liberal arts institution that is located between Los Angeles and Palm Springs. As of June 11, 2013, Redlands was one of three California facilities to receive this type of installation during the 2013 calendar year and joins various NCAA Division I football teams that have already made the switch to CoolPlay. Among others, the Bulldogs now are in the company of the University of Arizona and the University of Nebraska. The Bulldogs' renovation was completed in time for fall-sport arrival in the August of 2013. Redlands' FieldTurf® facility, which is shared between Bulldog Athletics, and intramurals and recreation sports, will include permanent lines for both football and soccer, as well as basic markings for men's and women's lacrosse and ultimate Frisbee.
